The Chiefs and people of Denkyira, led by the Paramount Chief of the area, Odeefour Boa Amponsem, have paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Owirenkyiman Traditional Area, Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim, at his palace at Assin Kushea in the Central Region.

The visit was aimed at strengthening traditional bonds between the two traditional areas, while also deepening collaboration with Perseus Mining Ghana Limited, where Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim serves as Board Chairman.

The Denkyira Traditional Council delegation was warmly received at the palace, where discussions focused on development, responsible mining, and long-term partnerships that benefit host communities.

As part of the engagement, management of Perseus Mining Ghana Limited made presentations on the company’s operations and community interventions, with contributions from top officials of the company.

Addressing the gathering, Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim expressed appreciation to the Denkyira delegation for the visit and reaffirmed Perseus Mining Ghana Limited’s commitment to working closely with traditional authorities to promote sustainable development.

He assured the chiefs of the company’s dedication to responsible mining practices and community-focused initiatives.

For his part, Odeefour Boa Amponsem, who also serves as President of the Denkyira Traditional Area, commended the Board Chairman and management of Perseus Mining Ghana Limited for their longstanding relationship with the people of Denkyira.

He pledged to continue advocating the needs of his people while sustaining the cordial relationship between the traditional areas and the mining company.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for new members of both traditional councils and company officials to formally interact, with the deliberations described as fruitful and forward-looking.

Assin Kushea, noted as one of the neatest towns in Ghana, is home to what is described as the largest palace in Africa and several tourist attractions, making it a growing destination for cultural and heritage tourism.
