Papa Shee, a close friend of the late Ghanaian music musician Daddy Lumba, has raised concerns about the treatment of Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of the late singer.
At a press conference organized by Team Legal Wives on Tuesday, he outlined a series of events suggesting that Akosua Serwaa has faced repeated harassment and misinformation.
According to Papa Shee, Akosua Serwaa has been visiting her late husband in Ghana and has had her identity and marital status misrepresented. Contrary to circulating claims, the two were never divorced. She lived with Daddy Lumba in Tantra, amid interference in their marriage. Her presence in Ghana has previously been targeted; during a 2021 visit, she was robbed and warned against returning.
Papa Shee stressed that Akosua Serwaa has never defamed her late husband and has remained a woman of integrity and discretion. He appealed to Ghana’s highest authorities, including the government, the President, the Chief Justice, and the judicial system, to ensure that justice prevails. The situation, he noted, carries global attention, with international observers closely watching how the matter is handled.
Later, Papa Shee announced plans to organise a three-day prayer crusade in solidarity with Akosua Serwaa, whom he describes as the legally acknowledged wife of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba.
The announcement came during a press briefing held by Team Legal Wives on Monday, February 3, 2025. Speaking to the media, Papa Shee addressed the continuing legal dispute involving Akosua Serwaa and some members of Daddy Lumba’s family. He emphasised the importance of spiritual support as the court process unfolds.
According to him, the prayer crusade will be held in Accra from Thursday, February 19, to Saturday, February 21. The spiritual gathering is expected to take place within the Kwame Nkrumah Circle area, where followers and sympathisers of Team Legal Wives are projected to converge.
Papa Shee explained that the main objective of the event is to rally believers and well-wishers to intercede on behalf of Akosua Serwaa, particularly regarding her welfare and the outcome of the legal contest. He noted that participants will join in collective prayers, seeking divine favour, protection, and deliverance from individuals perceived to be working against her.
