NDC will defeat Bawumia despite rebranding – Ayariga

Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has insisted that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) remains confident of defeating Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in any future presidential contest, arguing that Ghanaians will judge him based on his record in government rather than rebranding efforts.

Speaking in Parliament, Mr Ayariga attributed his remarks to what he described as the lived experiences of Ghanaians under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, in which Dr Bawumia has served as Vice President.

“The Bawumia that I know, NDC will beat him any day,” Mr Ayariga said, adding that his decision to wear white in the chamber was symbolic. “I am only wearing white to join the NPP in the chamber to celebrate because the Bawumia that I know, NDC can beat him any day.”
