Ghanaian midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has completed a move to Spanish Segunda División side SD Huesca from Croatian top-flight club Slaven Belupo on a two-and-a-half-year deal, the club has confirmed.

The former Dreams FC midfielder, who impressed during three seasons in the Croatian top division, now makes the switch to Spanish football and is set to begin a new chapter in La Liga 2 for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Confirming the signing on its official website, SD Huesca announced:
“Michael Agbekpornu (Ghana, 1997) is a new player for SD Huesca. The footballer arrives on a transfer from Slaven Belupo and has signed with the club until 2028.”

The club described Agbekpornu as a defensive midfielder noted for his physical presence, solidity, high work rate, and strong tactical discipline.

Agbekpornu joins from the Croatian Super League (HNL), where he spent the last three seasons with Slaven Belupo, making 69 appearances, scoring two goals, and registering five assists. Prior to that, he featured for KF Egnatia in the Albanian Super League for two seasons after moving from Dreams FC in Ghana.

Before completing his move during the winter transfer window, the 27-year-old made 18 appearances across all competitions for Slaven Belupo in the ongoing campaign.

At international level, Agbekpornu is yet to earn a senior cap for Ghana but has previously represented the country at the U23 level.
