Agradaa’s 15 years jail sentenced reduced to 12 months

The court gave the ruling today after it partly upheld the appeal of Agradaa which challenged her sentence by the Accra Circuit Court on the basis that the she was not afforded fair trial and her sentence was harsh.

Sentence 
Agradaa was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment each on two counts of defrauding by false pretence, with the court ordering Agradaa to serve the two sentence concurrent.
The convict was also fined GH¢300 for charlatanic advertisement.

The conviction and sentence stemmed from a televised broadcast in 2022 in which Agradaa told the public she was willing to share GH¢300,000 to the needy during a church service, but ended up taking various sum of money from people without giving out any money.
