Alhaji Halidu Haruna, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Zongo Development Fund, has assured Zongos of the commitment of President John Dramani Mahama to the accelerated development of deprived communities.

He said the President had demonstrated his determination to ensuring holistic national development that left no deprived Zongo community behind.

Alhaji Halidu conveyed this assurance at a meeting with the executives of the Federation of Muslim Councils (FMCs) at the Fund’s headquarters in Accra.

He indicated that the Zongo Development Fund was pursuing a restructuring programme aimed at enhancing its capacity to deliver extensively on its mandate.

He said the Fund would fairly provide critical infrastructure in education, health and sanitation in addition to the provision of skills training, entrepreneurship and the promotion of arts and culture to promote tourism, among other programmes.

Alhaji Mohammed Kpakpo Addo, General Secretary of the Federation, said the strategic objectives of the Federation aligned with President Mahama’s reset agenda.

He affirmed their determination to working with the ZoDF in fostering development and attitudinal change in Zongo communities.
