Voting has commenced in the run up to the Ayawaso East by-election, where five contenders are seeking the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket.

The exercise, taking place today at the Nima Cluster of Schools, will decide the party’s candidate for the March 3, 2026, parliamentary by-election following the passing of MP Naser Toure.

The contest is considered crucial given the NDC’s strong foothold in the constituency.
