A local rice farmer has gone public with concerns about the difficulty in selling his produce, drawing attention to the challenges facing domestic rice producers in the country.

In a video that has gone viral on X, posted on February 8, 2026, the farmer showcased several bags of locally produced rice he said were ready for the market but had remained unsold.
