Asante Kotoko lost 4-2 on penalties to Aduana

Asante Kotoko have been eliminated from the Round of 16 of the ongoing 2025/26 MTN FA Cup after a home defeat to Aduana Football Club.

The match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 8, 2025,

ended goalless after regulation time, with both sides failing to find a breakthrough despite the numerous chances.

Asante Kotoko had an early chance to take control of the contest, but captain Samba O’Neil missed from the penalty spot.

Aduana proved more composed in the shootout, converting their kicks to secure qualification to the quarterfinals after a 4-2 victory on penalties.

The Dormaa-based club will now face Techiman Liberty in the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

For Asante Kotoko, the defeat increases the pressure on head coach Karim Zito.
