GPL 2025/26: Ibrahim Tanko, Winfred Dormon to battle two others for January award

Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko faces stiff competition from Dreams FC trainer Winfred Dormon and two others for the NASCO Coach of the Month award for January.

Other nominees are Kobina Amissah of Bechem United and FC Samartex’s Christopher Ennin.

Tanko guided Medeama to four victories in five matches, opening a seven-point lead at the summit of the table.

Bechem’s Amissah recorded three victories, including one against title-chasing and defending champions Bibiani GoldStars.

Dormon led Dreams FC to an unbeaten run, recording two victories in five matches to sit 10th on the league log.

Samartex also remained unbeaten under Ennin in January, securing three victories in four matches.

The eventual winner will take home a 43-inch NASCO TV and a NASCO double-door fridge with a bottom freezer.

Elsewhere, Medeama’s Salim Adams has been nominated for the NASCO Premier League Player of the Month award after scoring three goals to help his side stay top.

John Antwi of Dreams FC was also shortlisted after netting three times and providing two assists during the month.

Christian Agyenim Boateng also scored three goals to earn a nomination for the award.

The eventual winner will receive a 43-inch NASCO television set and a NASCO double-door refrigerator with a bottom freezer.

In the goalkeeping category, Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare, who did not concede in three matches, has been nominated alongside Samartex’s Musah Zakari, who kept four clean sheets.

They will compete with 17-year-old Rahman Osman of Dreams FC, who kept three clean sheets in five matches, and Bechem United’s Benjamin Asiedu, who also recorded three clean sheets.

The winner will receive a prize package from the Ex-Goalkeepers Union, including a pair of gloves, a branded towel, water bottles, and a T-shirt.
