The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Abdulai Ayariga, has announced that two youth resource centres, including the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The projects form part of efforts to expand youth development infrastructure across the country.
Speaking in an interview on Citi FM, Mr Ayariga said work on the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex is progressing steadily.
He disclosed that construction of the pitch is scheduled to commence next month, marking a major milestone in the development of the facility.
According to the NYA CEO, the sports complex is designed to serve as a hub for youth engagement, sports development, and talent nurturing.
Once completed, it is expected to provide young people with access to modern facilities that promote healthy lifestyles and create pathways for skills development.
Mr Ayariga added that the Authority remains committed to completing the two centres within the stated timeline, despite challenges facing infrastructure projects nationwide.
He noted that the facilities will play a key role in empowering the youth and supporting national efforts to harness their potential for socio-economic development.
