Effutu NPP leaders want Dr Bawumia’s intervention in the matter

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region has raised concerns over the non-disbursement of funds allocated for delegates’ Transport and Travelling (T&T) expenses during the recent presidential primaries.

In a letter addressed to the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Effutu Constituency Chairman, Joseph Nicholas Bondzie, stated that the constituency’s representative of Team Bawumia, Theophilus Kojo Halm, failed to release the designated funds prior to the January 31, 2026, election.

He further noted that till date, no effort has been made to release the funds after the election.

“Kojo Halm failed to release the said funds prior to the January 31 election and, regrettably, has also made no effort to disburse these dedicated funds after the election. To date, neither the Constituency Leadership nor the Electoral Area Coordinators have received any portion of the allocated amount.

“We find this conduct by Halm to be dubious and, at the very least, indicative of an intent to deprive delegates of their rightful entitlements,” the letter said.

The Effutu constituency leadership also called for swift action to ensure delegates receive the funds owed to them, ahead of further party activities in the region.

“We, therefore, respectfully call on your good self to intervene and direct Mr Kojo Halm to immediately release the allocated sum of GH¢1500.00 to each delegate in the Effutu Constituency,” it added.
