Per Exhibit 1 attached to the affidavit these individuals have not declared their assets

Ghanaian journalist, Wilberforce Asare, has filed a mandamus application at the General Jurisdiction Division of the High Court, seeking to compel the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate several public officials over alleged non-declaration of assets, according to thelawplatform.online news report on February 10, 2026.

The application, filed through his lawyer, Eric Dawda, invokes the supervisory powers of the High Court to direct CHRAJ to act on a complaint concerning certain Chief Executive Officers and Board Chairpersons of state institutions.

According to court documents numbered GJ/0402/2026 and filed on February 9, 2026, the applicant contends that twelve Board Chairpersons and two Chief Executive Officers of state corporations failed to declare their assets prior to assuming office.

In support of his motion, Asare attached a Right to Information (RTI) response from the Auditor-General’s Department. The response allegedly confirms that the named officials did not comply with the constitutional requirement to declare their assets before taking office.

The journalist states that he initially lodged a formal complaint with CHRAJ on November 20, 2025, requesting investigations into the matter. However, he claims that no action was taken.

He further avers in his 15-paragraph affidavit that after receiving no response, he wrote officially to CHRAJ on December 11, 2025, drawing the Commission’s attention to the complaint and demanding action. According to the application, CHRAJ has neither responded to his correspondence nor initiated any investigation into the complaint filed at its registry.
