Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah is the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has held a strategic meeting with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), Samaila Zubairu, to strengthen collaboration in developing Ghana’s mineral sector.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Investing in Africa Mining Indaba 2026, where leaders and investors have gathered to explore opportunities within the continent’s mining industry.
The two parties discussed ways to accelerate priority projects in bauxite, gold, and iron ore, with particular emphasis on value addition, project financing, and de-risking large-scale investments.

The engagement also sought to identify innovative approaches to mobilizing capital and unlocking Africa’s long-term mineral potential.
According to Buah, Ghana’s commitment to industrialisation remains paramount, stressing the importance of aligning financing, infrastructure, and policy frameworks to maximise value from the country’s mineral resources.
He further emphasised the need to move beyond raw material exports toward integrated value chains that promote job creation and sustainable growth.
“We view investors as long-term partners, not short-term profit-seekers. This is the approach to proper and safer mining partnerships,” he said.
The talks also explored opportunities for broader continental cooperation.
The minister proposed a jointly hosted ministerial convening in Ghana aimed at policy harmonisation, strengthening cross-border collaboration, and advancing a unified African strategy for mineral development.
