Former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul (L) confronting the ‘fake soldier’
The troubles of Joseph Baatah, the man who was arrested at the 37 Military Hospital on Monday, February 9, 2026, for allegedly impersonating a military officer, have compounded.
Following his arrest, former Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, stormed the place where he was being held to level more allegations against him.
Dominic Nitiwul was captured in a viral video confronting the man for allegedly impersonating him for years.
According to the former minister, the accused person created fake social media accounts using his biography, which he used to dupe scores of people through recruitment scams.
“Commander, this boy has used my name to dupe so many people. He creates Facebook profiles and uses my name to dupe so many people.
“The last person he duped, he met at Burma Camp. Just two weeks ago. The boy came to my house,” he alleged.
Nitiwul said that he was able to identify Joseph Baatah in the viral video that showed him being beaten by some soldiers after his arrest at the 37 Military Hospital.
“I sent his picture when the soldiers were beating him, and the boy (the victim) said, ‘yes, this is the boy; he is coming to collect his money…
“Over 100 people will come here and testify against you. Because we speak with a similar accent, he used my name to dupe so many people,” he said.
