According to the statement, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at about 10:20 a.m., committee members of Mahamo arrested the suspect and handed him over to the Benso Police Station with bloodstains on him, following a report that he had unlawfully harmed the victim, now deceased.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a misunderstanding had ensued earlier that day between the suspect and his wife, Gifty Yoke. The deceased, who lived near the couple, intervened to separate them, but the suspect became displeased with the intervention.
