Kofi Kinaata’s verse on ‘Aso Remix’ isn’t sidelined

Following the success of the remix of his iconic hit “Aso”, acclaimed Highlife artiste Kwabena Kwabena has addressed rumours that his camp sidelined Kofi Kinaata’s verse on the track.

Since the release of the track, Stonebwoy’s verse has become the dominant highlight, with netizens vibing more to it.

Across social media, Stonebwoy’s delivery has gained massive recognition and is often used to promote the remix.

Speaking in an interview with Elsie Lamar on GhanaWeb’s Talkertainment, Kwabena Kwabena clarified that his team did not deliberately sideline Kinaata’s verse.

He explained that it is common for certain parts of a song to trend more than others, and this does not diminish the value of other verses.

Addressing concerns raised by music lovers, the musician explained that it is common for a particular verse of a song to trend, adding that his camp did not deliberately promote Stonebwoy’s verse, as speculated online.

“Every song has its duration. You realise that a part of the song trends at a time. It can never be the whole song; it’s always a part. It doesn’t mean that the part that didn’t go viral is inferior or anything.

“You don’t determine that. So with this, apart from our remix, I think there are a whole lot of examples out there. There could be three people on a song, and you’ll see that only one-part trends,” he stated in the discussion aired on GhanaWeb TV on February 11, 2026.
