The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has informed countless insurance company offices situated on its premises to close down with immediate effect.

These offices are situated in Cape Coast and Sunyani.

It comes after they were found to allegedly facilitate the sale of DV plates directly to private individuals at significantly high cost.

According to the Authority, they provide a ‘physical hub’ for the black-market sale of these plates.

“We will not tolerate activities that undermine the security of our licensing system or the safety of our roads. The Authority is working closely with law enforcement to ensure that all individuals and entities involved in this illegality are held accountable under the laws of Ghana.”

Meanwhile, it advised the public to avoid purchasing DV plates from unauthorised sources.

“Engaging in such transactions is a legal risk and compromises vehicle security. For all vehicle registration and licensing needs, please visit our official service counters or use our approved digital platforms.”
