President John Dramani Mahama has expressed confidence that Ghana will soon have its first female president.
Speaking at a high-level dialogue on gender during the African Union summit in Ethiopia, he said women’s empowerment is central to his socio-economic policies, which aim to deliver true national development.
Pointing to Ghana’s historic election of its first female Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, President Mahama emphasised that the country is ready to break new barriers in leadership and advance gender equality.
