Administrator of the newly established Ghana Sports Fund, Dr. David Kofi Wuaku, has highlighted the transformative potential of sports as a tool for youth empowerment, preventive healthcare, and national development.

His remarks come in the wake of the historic seed donation from National Investment Bank and the Fund is strategically positioned to manage resources responsibly and maximise the impact of every contribution.

Dr. Wuaku further noted that sports development represents a holistic investment in the country. Beyond promoting physical health and discipline, it encourages youth engagement, fosters national pride, and generates economic opportunities in sectors linked to sports, including coaching, events management, infrastructure, and tourism.

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Wuaku called on corporate partners, public institutions, and individuals to support the Fund. “Every contribution strengthens Ghanaian sports, empowers our youth, and builds a prosperous, inclusive future. This is more than funding — it is investing in the potential of our people and the long-term development of our nation,” he said.

The Ghana Sports Fund, under Dr. Wuaku’s leadership, is poised to become a game-changing platform, ensuring that athletes, sports associations, and communities have the resources, guidance, and opportunities needed to excel at both national and international levels.
