CAGD is threatening to suspend salaries of all those who fail to update their Ghana Cards
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has warned that public sector employees who fail to update their Ghana Card details on the payroll system by March 15, 2026, will have their salaries suspended.
In a letter dated February 11, 2026, the CAGD said the directive follows the launch of an upgraded e-Payslip platform, designed to make it easier for government workers to access their monthly pay slips.

The department said the recent rollout has exposed discrepancies with payroll records, with NIA data preventing some employees from using the platform.
“Following the rollout of the platform, the department identified critical data discrepancies which prevent some employees from accessing their pay slips on the platform. These discrepancies are due to the National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers which were captured on the payroll system but do not correspond with the employee’s NIA records,” it said.

CAGD said the directive applies to key public institutions including the Judicial Service, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons Service, the Electoral Commission, among others.
It urged the Human Resource Departments of the affected entities to “Submit the employee’s application for correction/insertion of NIA Number, posting of transfer letter, and a clear print copy of the Ghana Card to the CAGD.”
