In a report by myjoyonline on 15th February,2026,the Ghana Police Service in the Oti Region has arrested seven suspects and intercepted 1,696 compressed parcels of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs in a series of intelligence-led operations.

The operations,conducted between February 13 and 15,2026,targeted suspected drug trafficking activities across different parts of the region,according to the Public Affairs Unit of the Oti Regional Police Command.

The largest seizure occurred on February 15,when officers intercepted a Benz Cargo Truck with registration number GS 3831-09 at Bodada after days of surveillance.The truck,driven by Amrado Justice Nelson,50,with Onaneye Yussif,25,onboard,initially appeared empty.

However,a detailed search uncovered specially modified sealed compartments beneath the cargo floor,where 1,482 compressed parcels of substances suspected to be Indian hemp had been concealed.
