W/NR: Septuagenarian Dies in Domestic Fire Outbreak

A 70-year-old has lost his life after fire ravaged a two-bedroom house at Sefwi Adjoafua in the Western North Region.

The deceased has been identified as Kwasi Nkansah.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the firefighters acted swiftly despite heavy rain and poor roads by preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings.

In its statement, the Service urged the public to be on the lookout for the vulnerable during such emergencies.

It also called for conscious practice of fire safety.

“Stay safe: supervise the vulnerable, practise fire safety, and report emergencies immediately.”
