Bawumia calls on NPP Members to forgive and unite after campaign season

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged party members to forgive one another for misunderstandings and harsh exchanges during the recent campaign period, highlighting the importance of unity as the party moves forward.

Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Service held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Dr. Bawumia called for reconciliation and collective healing following a heated political season.

“On this day, as we gather to celebrate and give thanks, I humbly ask that we forgive one another for some of the unpalatable things that may have been said during the campaign,” he said.

He emphasized that unity and reconciliation are essential as the NPP reorganizes for the next political cycle.

“I have been encouraged by the efforts many of you have made to reach out to your brothers and sisters after the elections. While I acknowledge that the work of healing is not yet complete, I believe we have made a good start, and I commend all patriots for the steps taken so far,” Dr. Bawumia added.

His remarks come as the party begins internal reorganization efforts aimed at strengthening cohesion and preparing for future electoral contests.
