The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises across several regions, beginning Monday, February 16, 2026.
The exercises, scheduled across the Tema, Greater Accra, Accra East, and Central regions, are intended to improve service delivery but will result in temporary power outages in numerous communities.
In the Tema Region, ECG stated it “will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” with outages lasting from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The first exercise in this region is set for Tuesday, February 17, impacting “Comm. 16, 17 & 24, Sydal Farms, Adjel Kodjo, Japan City, Global, Teteman, Baatsonaa (Total & Cluster of Schools), Resolve Hospital, Timber Market, Bakeshop, Marina Mall and surrounding areas.”
The following day, Wednesday, February 18, another maintenance exercise in Tema will affect “FOS Aluminium, Kakalika Plaza, Shell Signboard, Kpogas and surrounding areas.” A third notice for the Tema Region, dated Thursday, 19th February, lists “Lashibi, Emef Estates, High Tension, Celebrity Golf Club, Jotafa, Sakumono (Village & Estates) and surrounding areas” as the affected zones.
In the Greater Accra Region, residents in several localities will experience longer outage windows from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. An ECG notice for Tuesday, February 17, indicated that areas including “Odorkor, Awoshie, odorgonnor, Gbawel, Israel last stop, Agradaa, Tuba, Krokrobite, Old Bortianor, old Aplaku, and surrounding areas” would be affected. Further exercises in the region are scheduled for Wednesday, 18th February, impacting “Wiaboman, Glefe, Kotoku Shell Filling Station, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Kings University, and surrounding areas,” and for Friday, 20th February, affecting “Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Cassava farm, Oshiyie, and surrounding areas.”
The Accra East Region will also see significant activity. A notice dated Friday, 13th February, announced that on Monday, February 16, power will be interrupted for “UPSA Hostel, Trinity, Mempeasem, School Junction, Parts of Adjiringanor, Obinim Church, Kanda Estate, and surrounding areas” from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Another notice for the same region listed Tuesday, February 17, for areas including “Mantey Tsuru, TS Guest House, La Cemetery, Burma Camp, Dzorwulu UBA Bank, Odateye Tsui Road, and surrounding areas.” A further exercise is planned for Wednesday, 18th February, affecting “Ablor Adjei township, Parts of Cantonment, Abokobi township, Parts of Teiman, Adenta Container, Abenwoha, and surrounding areas.”
In the Central Region, ECG announced that on Tuesday, February 17, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the outage will affect “Eduyaw Owane, Mando, Abaasa, Essarkyir, Goamoamaim, Baah, Afransie, Amai, Eshiem, Entumbil, Ochiso and surrounding areas.”
