Diaspora Affairs Office Issues Deadline Reminder for Historic Diaspora Citizenship Process

Ghana’s Diaspora Affairs Office says persons interested in securing Ghanaian citizenship have four days to complete the process.

In a Facebook post, the Director of the Diaspora Affairs Office, Kofi Okyere-Darko, encouraged qualified applicants to take advantage.

“Just four days remain to complete the 2026 Historic Diaspora Citizenship Process in Ghana.”

He directed all qualified applicants to visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan-African Culture to finalise their documentation.

“We are open daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Kindly ensure you take advantage of this final window.”

The process resumed last week after a pause for an overhaul of the process.

The ceremonial swearing-in for successful applicants is scheduled for March 5, 2026.

In a joint statement, the Diapora Office and the Ministry of Interior assured all interested persons that the citizenship process remains open via  for registration.

It noted that no one will be disadvantaged.
