President John Dramani Mahama has hinted that owning a farm could influence his next government reshuffle.

Speaking at the maiden Ghana Tree Crops Investment Summit and Exhibition on February 17, 2026, he said,”When I am going to do a reshuffle, the mitigating factor will be that you must have a farm. So, public servants, ministers, priests, clergymen, traditional rulers, everybody, try and do some agriculture.”

The suggestion follows earlier remarks on February 15, 2025, by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, who indicated that President Mahama would reshuffle his ministers one year into his second term.

According to him, the government has achieved much over the past year but is seeking ways to improve its performance, prompting the upcoming exercise.

While the exact date of the reshuffle remains unclear, the NDC General Secretary expressed confidence that it will definitely happen.
