Veteran Ghanaian journalist, Osei Owusu Bempah has attributed the ongoing challenges of Asante Kotoko SC to what he describes as managerial and structural deficiencies within the club.
According to him, the core problem facing the Porcupine Warriors is not merely technical or player-related, but deeply rooted in how the club is managed and organized.
He argued that Kotoko is not well structured administratively, insisting that without a clear and efficient management system, it will be difficult for the club to achieve sustained success.
“Kotoko problems, as far as I’m concerned, are purely managerial; managerial beginning from the ownership through to the last person who goes to support the club.
“The team is not well structured compared to some of the other clubs that we see around the continent. Again, there’s also not so much investment in the team.
“Years ago, Kotoko could do with training pitches such as what you used to call cricket and the military pitches. These days have changed, and you cannot continue to rely on facilities such, for example, Adoko Jachie and some of the mediocre places to get the results that you need.
“Kotoko doesn’t have a place, for example, to call its own in terms of administration, a well fitted administrative office or whatever it is. The team doesn’t seem to have been taking that direction.”
Kotoko, who are now outside the top four after defeat to Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash, will be eager to respond when they face Young Apostles on Matchday 23.
