Mohammed Agyemang, father of the baby who was stolen from the Mamprobi Polyclinic in Accra, has shared details about the trauma his wife went through after discovering her baby had gone missing.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Agyemang stated that his wife is still deeply traumatised, especially after undergoing a cesarean section at the hospital.
He explained that his wife carried the pregnancy for nine months and endured the operation, only for their newborn to be taken away shortly after delivery.
The experience, he said, has left her deeply traumatised.
“My wife is still traumatised after our baby was stolen at the Mamprobi Polyclinic. The pain was unbearable, but now we thank God the baby has been found. The pain and trauma are too much for her. She cries all the time, she cannot sleep, and she kept thinking the baby might never be returned,” he recounted.
Agyemang further expressed gratitude to the police and members of the public who assisted in recovering the child.
He added that despite the recovery, his wife remains in shock, holding the baby tightly and refusing to let anyone nearby.
He also called for improved security at health facilities to prevent similar incidents.
“Thanks to the police and the good people who helped, they found the woman, arrested her, and brought our baby back safely. We are a little happier now because God has answered our prayers,” Agyemang stated.
“The hospital must do better with security because this should never happen in a clinic where people go to give birth. I am pleading that they investigate thoroughly so that this never happens again to another family,” he added.
