The Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) has advised and cautioned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to produce the foreign credentials and certifications of all physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants who have been engaged by the association to be verified by the Council for registration and licensing to practice their profession in Ghana.

By a letter dated 16th February 2026 and addressed to the President of the Ghana Football Association, Prof.Shirazu Issahaku, the Registrar of the Council cautioned and advised the GFA to respect the Health Professions Act, Part 1 2013 (Act 857), Section 21 (C) which makes it an offence for any person to practice or profess to practice as an Allied Health Professional without prior registration.

In regards to same, the AHPC has cautioned the GFA to register Mr Carlos Lozano Romero and any other foreign Physiotherapist or Physiotherapist Assistant with the AHPC for an appropriate licence to be issued before undertaking any physiotherapy-related duties in Ghana.
