His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, was involved in a car accident in the Oti Region on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2026, while returning to Accra from an urgent trip, according to confirmation from the Office of the Ga Mantse.

The Palace assured the public in an official statement that the incident had not resulted in any casualties.

“By God’s grace, no one was hurt, and with the help of the police and his assistants on board the vehicles involved, everyone was successfully evacuated to Accra,” the statement read.

The Ga Mantse and everyone else engaged were evaluated medically in Accra after the evacuation and released in stable condition.

The Palace further stated that His Royal Majesty and his assistants are steadily recovering and reacting well to ongoing medical surveillance.
