NPP China and Belgium branches boost Patriotic Institute with financial and training support

The Patriotic Institute on Thursday, 19 February 2026, received donations from two external branches of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in a move described as a significant boost to its political education and capacity-building efforts.

The NPP China Branch, led by Dr Michael Amponsah, and the NPP Belgium Branch, chaired by Mr Solomon Agyin (King Solomon), made financial contributions to support the Institute’s nationwide training programmes and strategic development initiatives.

In addition to its financial support, the China Branch pledged to provide branded learning materials, including pens, notepads, T-shirts and other essential resources. The items are expected to enhance participant engagement during upcoming workshops and capacity-building programmes.

The donations were formally received by Alhaji Haruna Mohammed, Deputy General Secretary, who represented the General Secretary. He commended both branches for their continued commitment to strengthening the party’s intellectual and grassroots development agenda.

Also present was Mr Kwame Kyeretwie Amponsah, Director of External Affairs, along with the management team of the Patriotic Institute, led by Dr Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko. Dr Tsiboe-Darko expressed appreciation to the China and Belgium branches, stating that their contributions would significantly expand the Institute’s ability to deliver quality training modules, digital skills programmes and leadership development initiatives.

Mr Stephen Forson, Deputy Director of IT for the NPP and Programmes Coordinator at the Patriotic Institute, reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to providing intensive training for party members at all levels, including those in the external branches. He emphasised the critical role external branches play in national and diaspora-based campaigns and disclosed plans to formally incorporate them into the Institute’s annual training calendar.

The Patriotic Institute reiterated its commitment to serving as a central hub for research, training and strategic development within the party. The donations from the China and Belgium branches underscore growing collaboration between the party and its diaspora chapters, marking another step towards strengthening knowledge, building capacity and inspiring effective leadership.
