Rapper Kwaw Kese, born Emmanuel Kofi Botwe, says he was a top English and Fante student at Winneba Secondary School.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Time, the artiste reflected on his academic background, his ambition to become a lawyer and the musicians he would have represented if he had pursued a legal career.
“I wanted to be a lawyer,” Kwaw Kese said during the interview. He explained that although he excelled in languages, he had a challenge with one of his teachers.
“The only problem I had was with my French teacher. The French teacher didn’t have that aura, so whenever he was teaching, it became boring,” he said.
Kwaw Kese also drew attention after stating that he would have defended Wendy Shay in court. “I will defend Wendy Shay if I was a lawyer because her body is nice,” he said, adding that he would also represent other artistes, including Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Gyakie, MzVee and Ms. Bell.
Explaining his choice of Shatta Wale, the rapper said he relates to the dancehall artiste’s personality. “I would try and defend a crazy guy like Shatta Wale. He is stubborn and I would defend stubbornness perhaps Shatta Wale is my son,” he stated.
Beyond academics and career ambitions, Kwaw Kese described himself as a “traditionalist and herbalist,” highlighting his spiritual beliefs. “I pour libation. I communicate with ‘Otweduanpon Asaase Yaa,’” he said.
