The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council of Elders has said the smooth and peaceful conduct of the January 31 presidential primary reinforces the strength of the party’s internal democratic processes and unity.

A statement signed and issued by the Chairman of the NPP Council of Elders, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, commended the 2026 Presidential Elections Committee for their professionalism.

The council highlighted that the primary was executed in a free, orderly, and transparent manner, notably free from disputes or grievances from any aspirants or their supporters.

This, they stated, served as a “clear testament to the diligence, integrity, and competence” of the committee.

The statement also praised the committee’s inclusive approach, noting that its continuous engagement with all aspirants significantly contributed to the clarity, credibility, and widespread acceptance of the election outcome.

The council applauded the committee’s responsiveness and respect for institutional counsel, particularly their consistent willingness to engage with the elders and adopt their advice for the party’s overarching benefit.
