The New Juaben South Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Ransford Owusu Boakye, has visited the family of Constance Nyarko, a native of Srodae in Koforidua, who fell victim to the recent tragic terrorist attack in Burkina Faso that claimed eight Ghanaian lives.
Constance, affectionately known as Yaa Yaa, was among a group of Ghanaian traders travelling through northern Burkina Faso when they were ambushed by suspected insurgents.
During his visit, Mr. Boakye extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and assured them that the government would provide support for her burial arrangements.
Speaking to Adom News, Yaa Agyeiwaa, mother of the deceased, said Constance was the family’s sole breadwinner and left behind two children, making the loss particularly devastating.
Members of the Juaben Sewaa Market community, including tomato sellers, also expressed their sympathies and urged authorities to strengthen security for traders traveling abroad.
The incident has deeply affected the community, who remember Constance for her resilience, dedication, and hardworking nature.
Ransford Owusu Boakye reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the family during this difficult time.
