Fifi Fiavi Kwetey (L) and President Mahama (R) having a discussion
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Kwetey, has suggested that a reshuffle of current ministers and government appointees could be imminent.
According to him, such a move would aim to enhance efficiency and strengthen leadership across key sectors.

Speaking on TV3 on February 15, 2026, Kwetey explained that despite the government’s generally positive performance since taking office, a reshuffle is important to further improve the functioning of sectors critical to governance.
“It’s always important that, despite the fact that things have gone on very well in the first year, the president, who is the leader, would always want to see where things can still be done better.
“So, reshuffle normally is done within that context where you want to see, in this particular sector, even though things are okay, I can still do better if I move somebody else into that place,” he said.
He added that reshuffles could also occur to place officials where they might be more effective.
“… maybe this one is not too effective in this sector, let’s move into that sector where maybe you will be a leader. So, I think reshuffling will be a possibility, and from what I pick up in corridors, yes,” he indicated.
Why Fifi Kwetey is willing to ‘sacrifice’ political ambition for NDC’s reset agenda
While Fifi Fiavi Kwetey did not give a specific timeline, he confirmed that a reshuffle is likely.
“We definitely are going to be having a reshuffle. I wouldn’t be able to say how soon, but definitely,” he said.
