Residents of Atsieve and Nyagali in the South Tongu district of the Volta region have begun enjoying access to clean and safe drinking water.

The water facility was commissioned on 13th February 2026, led by the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu, Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, in collaboration with the District Chief Executive for the area, Victoria Dzeklo.

According to the MP, the project marks a significant step in efforts to expand basic infrastructure within the district.

For years, households in the two communities grappled with limited access to potable water, a challenge that placed strain on domestic life, schooling and small-scale economic activities.

The situation compelled many residents, particularly women and children, to travel considerable distances in search of water.

He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising essential social amenities across the constituency, noting that sustainable access to clean water remains central to his development agenda for South Tongu.
