U.S. celebrity speaker, renowned American bestselling author and financial thought leader Anthony O’Neal, followed by more than 1 million subscribers on YouTube, is set to receive Ghanaian citizenship on March 5.

The ceremony forms part of Ghana’s broader efforts to reconnect with members of the African diaspora who are committed to contributing meaningfully to the country’s development.

The moment represents both an honour and a responsibility for O’Neal as he plans to launch a “Class on the Bus” Initiative.

A Vision for Mobile Classrooms

The Class on the Bus Initiative is designed to convert durable buses into fully equipped mobile classrooms that can deliver quality education directly to underserved communities across Ghana.

According to the project proposal, each bus will be outfitted with student seating and workspaces, storage facilities, proper lighting and ventilation, essential teaching tools, and, in premium models, digital learning resources such as tablets and interactive boards.

The goal is to help address challenges such as overcrowded classrooms, long walking distances to school, and limited access to educational infrastructure in certain communities. By taking the classroom to the child, the initiative seeks to remove barriers and create opportunities where they are needed most.

Strategic Partnership

The upcoming initiative is being developed in partnership with the Diaspora African Forum (DAF), also known as the Embassy of the Diaspora. Founded by Erieka Bennett, the organisation provides diplomatic support and engagement channels that could enhance the project’s long-term sustainability.

Through this collaboration, the initiative is positioned to benefit from structured governmental engagement and strategic support as it prepares for its eventual rollout.

A Symbol of Return and Responsibility

O’Neal’s forthcoming citizenship carries symbolism that extends beyond documentation. It shows a growing movement of African diasporans choosing to reconnect with the continent not only culturally, but through tangible impact.

In many ways, O’Neal’s decision to embrace Ghanaian citizenship and invest in educational development reminds us of the enduring vision that the Atlantic Ocean could not separate a connection destiny has put together.
