Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prince Owusu has expressed his delight after guiding the Porcupine Warriors to a crucial 0-2 away win over Young Apostles FC at the Wenchi Stadium in match-week 23 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors started the game on a bright note, with Johnson Oppong Owusu firing home the opener in just six minutes from kickoff before a Claude Shooting Borttey own goal in the 16th minute doubled their lead, which eventually secured all three points.

Owusu, who stepped in after the resignation of Abdul Karim Zito, said the win meant a lot to him, especially as his first in charge.

“It means a lot to me. This is my first win, and it makes people recognise what I can do,” he said.

He admitted there was pressure on the squad heading into the match but was pleased with how the players handled the moment.

“Yes, there was pressure. The players felt it themselves. So we spoke to them and asked them to put the pressure behind them and focus on how we wanted to play,” he explained.
