Mahama’s administration was commended by Nana Aba

Popular Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has given a positive appraisal of President John Dramani Mahama’s performance after his first year in office.

In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on February 21, 2026, the outspoken broadcaster rated the Mahama-led government at between 75 and 80 percent, noting improvements in economic stability compared to the preceding years.

“I think that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has stabilised the economy and I think his finance minister is doing an excellent job,” she said.

She contrasted the current leadership’s approach with that of the past, criticizing what she described as arrogance among officials in the previous government.

“There was too much arrogance. A lot of them were arrogant. From their utterances on radio, they were so dismissive of journalists,” she said.

She commended President Mahama and his team for displaying humility and responsiveness.

Highlighting specific ministers, she praised the Gender Minister for her quick responsiveness to issues and the Foreign Affairs Minister for being accessible even on social media platforms.

“I would give credit to the gender minister. She’s very responsive. She jumps on issues quickly. She doesn’t wait for days to respond. She’s doing an excellent job.

“The foreign minister is also very accessible. He’s there. You tweet at him and he responds,” he said.

While acknowledging that it may be early in the four-year term to make a definitive judgment, Nana Aba said she is encouraged by the “positive trajectory” of the government’s work so far.
