Stephen Sedem Deegbe is a member of the National Communication Team of NDC
A member of the National Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Sedem Deegbe has criticised his party over what he describes as poor welfare support for communicators in the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking on Hot FM’s Morning Drive on February 23, 2026, Deegbe disclosed that regional communicators receive less than GH₵700 per person each month for their work in defending and promoting the party’s agenda in the capital.
According to him, the amount is inadequate considering the demands placed on communicators who regularly appear in the media to represent the party.
Deegbe also raised concerns about what he termed as selective appointments within the party, questioning why some individuals have been rewarded with government positions while others, particularly regional communicators, have allegedly been sidelined.

He specifically criticised Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD), accusing him of playing a key role in influencing appointments.
“I blame the one at the GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi. Has Eric Agyie gotten a post? Is he not the one who has made Beatrice Annan a presidential staffer and stuff. Godwin Mahama is now a spokesperson at the Tema Oil Refinery,” Deegbe alleged.
While stating that he has no personal issue with those who have been appointed, Deegbe insisted that regional communicators deserve similar recognition and opportunities.
He suggested that New Patriotic Party (NPP) would have managed its internal appointments more strategically, including the creation of deputy roles to accommodate more loyal party members.
