The police has launched investigations into the violent clash

The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into a violent clash between students of Obrachire Senior High Technical School and Swedru School of Business during the District Schools Athletics Games in Agona Swedru on Thursday, February 19, 2026, which left one student hospitalised.

This was contained in a statement issued by the police on their social media pages on Monday, February 23, 2026.

“Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and further developments will be communicated in due course,” it noted.

The police also condemned the violence and gave that assurance that individuals behind the violence will be arrested.

“The Service strongly condemns the violence and assures the public that all perpetrators will be identified and brought to justice,” the statement noted.

According to eyewitnesses, tensions heightened during the event, leading to a physical confrontation between the two groups.

In the course of the disturbance, a student from Obrachire was allegedly attacked by several students believed to be from SWESBUS.

The injured student was reportedly hit with sticks and pelted with stones before bystanders intervened to restore calm.

Viral video on social media showing the injured student surrounded by a crowd amid the chaos.

He was subsequently rushed to a health facility, where he is currently receiving treatment.
