The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has denied reports that the CEO of Goldridge Refinery Limited, Nana Yaw Duodu, also known as Dr Sledge, has been cleared by the court of corruption.

In a statement, it called the reports misleading, noting that the Office has not yet filed any criminal charges in court against him.

“No court has pronounced on his guilt or innocence.”

The investigation of Dr Slegde’s USD 94 million-valued activity as part of the operations of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) from 2020 to 2024, is still ongoing, according to the OSP.

Status of Probe
It may be recalled that in 2025, the OSP froze assets in the form of vehicles belonging to Dr Sledge valued at GHC18 million.

In January 2026, the High Court refused to confirm the asset freezing, with the OSP taking legal steps intended to nullify the refusal of confirmation.

“The OSP also took steps to re-secure and freeze the assets. The assets remain frozen and are under the authority, protection, and preservation of the OSP in the public interest, as the Office continues its tracing operations to identify and freeze additional assets suspected to be tainted,” the OSP reported.

It assured the public that any person found culpable with the backing of sufficient evidence will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction at the conclusion of the probe.
