The Jubilee House will, for the second time in a row, host the country’s independence anniversary parade this year.
This was disclosed by the Information Services Department while announcing arrangements for the media of the event scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026, from 7:30 am.
Last year, the government cancelled the rotation of the celebration across regional capitals, saying the intention was to streamline a modest yet cost-effective celebration.
Citing the last celebration in Ho in the Volta region in March 2024, the government said it cost the country ¢15 million.
Below are coverage arrangements for this year’s event:
APPLICATION REQUIREMENT
Interested media organisations are requested to submit the following:
* Official letter of assignment from the media house with the names and contact details of nominated journalists/camera crew.
* Submission Email: accreditation@isd.gov.gh
* Application Deadline: Friday, 27 February 2026 at 5:00 pm.
ACCREDITATION ALLOCATION
* Due to space constraints and the high volume of expected applications, each media house will be allocated ONLY one (1) accreditation.
* Media houses with existing accreditation to cover the Presidency may utilize their assigned reporters for this event.
GUIDELINES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEO OPERATORS
All accredited photographers and videographers must ad here to the following guidelines:
* Arrive at the venue by 6:45 am for security clearance and positioning.
* Always display accreditation badges prominently.
* Follow instructions from security personnel and media liaison officers.
* Remain within designated media zones throughout the event.
Equipment Restrictions
* Professional cameras and video equipment only.
* No drones or aerial photography devices without prior written approval.
* Tripods and monopods must be positioned only in designated areas.
* Stabilizers and gimbals are permitted within guidelines.
Filming and Photography Protocols
* No movements during the national anthem, presidential address, and ceremonial moments.
* Maintain positions in assigned media zones.
* Avoid obstructing the view of dignitaries, guests, live broadcast cameras and other media personnel.
* No live streaming from personal and mobile devices.
* The official live video feed will be provided by Presidency Communications and Ghana
Television and will be accessible to all interested broadcasters.
Restricted Areas
* Presidential dais and immediate surroundings, except accredited official photographers and videographers for the Red Security Zone.
* Security checkpoints and restricted zones.
* VIP seating areas.
LIVE BROADCAST/STREAMING
The Presidency Communications team will provide clean/raw feed for media houses wishing to broadcast or stream the programme live. Please indicate your interest when submitting your accreditation application.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
* Accreditation is non-transferable
* Late arrivals may not be admitted
* Media personnel must dress in formal/business attire
