Piesie Esther is a Ghanaian gospel singer
Though musicians within the gospel fraternity often hold differing opinions on collaborating with secular artistes, gospel musician Piesie Esther has disclosed that she is yet to take a stance on working with them.
Speaking on Joy Prime on February 25, 2026, she weighed in on one of the most talked-about issues in Ghana’s gospel music industry, collaborations between gospel and secular musicians.
When asked whether she would consider recording a song with a secular artiste, Piesie Esther responded cautiously, “I have not made up my mind yet to make music with secular musicians,” she stated.
Asked again if there were particular secular artistes she would like to work with, she said it would be difficult to mention any names at this stage.
She clarified that her hesitation is not based on any negative perception of secular musicians, emphasising that she sees nothing inherently wrong with such collaborations.
‘Be careful the kind of women you take home!’ – Piesie Esther cautions men
“There’s nothing wrong with doing a song with secular musicians,” she explained.
However, she admitted that the likely reaction from her fellow gospel musicians and supporters remains a key concern.
“My own people will be the ones to bash me because they may not understand,” she added.
The award-winning singer expressed confidence that mindsets will gradually change.
“For now, they may lack understanding, but I believe a time will come when it will be easier to collaborate with secular artistes,” she said.
