A former Asokore Mampong MCE and 8 others have been granted bail in land fraud case
Nine individuals, including former Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive Alidu Seidu, have been granted bail by the Kumasi High Court in connection with an alleged land fraud scheme in Buoban in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
According to a report by citinewsroom.com, the accused persons are alleged to have conspired to unlawfully sell a 10.54-acre parcel of government land intended for the construction of a community hospital at Buoban, as well as to have falsified official land documents to facilitate the transaction.

“Each of the nine has been granted bail of GH¢800,000 with three sureties, to be justified with landed property. They face 12 charges, including conspiracy to falsify land records, falsification of land records, fraudulent breach of trust, abetment of crime in the alleged unlawful sale of public land, conspiracy to commit a crime, unlawful occupation of public land, and possession of forged documents,” the report noted.
Separately, two other suspects, the Kenyasehene and the Odikro, who are also implicated in the case but failed to appear in court, have had bench warrants issued for their arrest.
