President John Dramani Mahama has appointed media and entertainment personality Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria.
It was announced on March 1, 2026, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He will replace Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, who was recalled following misconduct that characterised his contest in the primaries for the vacant Parliamentary seat of Ayawaso East Constituency.
Meanwhile, Baba Sadiq unsuccessfully contested in the 2024 Parliamentary election for Okaikwei Central constituency on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
As the High Commissioner-designate, he is expected to enhance Ghana’s international presence.
