The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Ga South Municipal Office, has organised a social auditing programme to educate residents in the Danchira Electoral Area of the Domeabra Obom Constituency.
The engagement brought together key stakeholders, including traditional authorities, the Assembly Member for Danchira Electoral Area, community members, persons with disabilities, youth groups, faith-based organisations, women’s groups, and NCCE officials.
The programme created a structured platform for dialogue between duty bearers and constituents. He highlighted the role of citizens in governance, the principles of accountability and transparency, and the various mechanisms available for reporting corruption.
The forum also provided the opportunity for participants to seek clarity and updates on ongoing and completed projects in the areas of education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, employment, and security. Participants raised concerns about stalled projects, inadequate drainage systems, limited access to potable water, transparency in beneficiary selection processes, communication gaps between public officers and citizens, and the unavailability of other social amenities.
The Assembly Member of the Danchira Electoral Area, Mr. Ebenezer Ahortor, provided answers to the questions and concerns raised and assured the constituents that he is working closely with the Municipal Assembly and all relevant public institutions to complete all stalled projects in the shortest possible time.
The programme was sponsored by GIZ and co-funded by the European Union. Participants expressed profound gratitude to the organisers, stating that their knowledge had been enlightened
