Henry Wiafe Ampadu has long been recognised by many Ghanaians as an actor and musician whose creativity has entertained audiences on stage and screen.
In recent years, however, his work has increasingly shifted toward classrooms, youth forums and financial literacy platforms aimed at shaping how young people think about money, opportunities and the future.
According to him, the transition into youth empowerment and financial education grew out of personal experiences and years of observation.
While working in music and film, he noticed that many talented young people often struggled with poor financial decisions, misinformation and avoidable mistakes.
He also acknowledges facing financial challenges earlier in his own life, an experience that convinced him of the importance of timely financial education.
This conviction has driven his leadership of the Youth Vision Empowerment Initiative, a programme designed to help young people discover purpose, build confidence and acquire practical life and financial skills.
The initiative focuses on mentorship and guidance, with the aim of equipping young people to make informed decisions and contribute positively to society.
Ampadu’s interest in public service was also evident when he contested as a parliamentary candidate in the 2024 general elections.
He described the decision as a response to encouragement from members of his community rather than a personal political ambition.
While he has not stated whether he will contest again in 2028, he maintains that he remains open to serving wherever he believes he can make a meaningful impact.
Beyond his work in youth empowerment, Ampadu is also the founder of Crypto Focus, an initiative dedicated to digital finance and cryptocurrency education.
What began as an idea later developed into a book and has since grown into a learning community focused on financial literacy in the digital economy.
Interest in the platform has increased following the 2025 Crypto Focus Conference and ongoing discussions around cryptocurrency regulation in Ghana.
The initiative operates through clubs in schools, religious organisations and communities, supported by regional networks and a national community structure.
Ampadu believes modern financial literacy goes beyond traditional saving and spending. In his view, it must also include understanding mobile money, digital banking, online investments and emerging technologies such as cryptocurrencies.
He argues that many young people fall victim to impulsive spending habits, online scams and get-rich-quick schemes due to a lack of financial knowledge.
Through Crypto Focus, he hopes to address these gaps by promoting disciplined financial behaviour and encouraging young people to approach digital finance with caution and informed decision-making.
The initiative is open to institutions, youth groups and community organisations interested in promoting financial education.
He also believes that equipping young people with knowledge about blockchain, Web3 and the broader digital finance ecosystem can contribute to Ghana’s efforts to expand financial inclusion and strengthen youth participation in the digital economy.
As the initiative expands and partnerships are explored to support its growth, Ampadu continues to emphasise the importance of knowledge and discipline in financial management.
He encourages young people to stay informed, avoid hype-driven investments and prioritise learning before committing to financial opportunities.
With preparations underway for the Crypto Focus Conference 2026 scheduled for September, and growing online engagement through the community platform @CryptoFocus360, Ampadu says his goal remains clear — to combine creativity, education and service in ways that help young people build sustainable financial futures.
