The Ghana Police Service has taken up reports of unauthorised withdrawal of Mobile Money (MoMo) from an agent’s account by some officers.
In a statement, the Service disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Yohonu, had sanctioned an investigation into the claims.
The Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) has since initiated an investigation, with the victim assisting with the probe.
“We assure the public that the outcome of the investigation will be duly communicated.”
It is alleged that the said police officer stationed at Kibi withdrew an amount of GH₵400,000 from the MoMo account.
